Self Monitored Home Security: Choosing Wireless for Your Home
Category : Uncategorized
With a huge selection of home security systems, it can be difficult to decide which is the most efficient and reliable for you and your home security needs. There are merits and downsides to virtually every type of home security around; however, with the wireless auto-dial system, it proves to be the most affordable without sacrificing its reliability in providing you and your home reliable home security. Plus, given the ease of installation, it proves to be one of the most modern and efficient forms of home security around.
The wireless auto-dial system works relatively simply. Installation does not need to be professionally done; rather, you can self-install the system yourself around your home, making it more convenient and lower in cost as well. It creates a zone that is protected by the system, wiring your home with the proper alarms. If an intruder breaks into your home, these alarms will trigger, alerting everyone around including the burglar of the activated system and the ongoing burglary. However, instead of just relying on those alarms to call a neighbor to action (to call the police department) or scare away the burglar, it also calls a list of pre-programmed contacts to alert them of the ongoing burglary. Of these numbers programmed, you can put your cellular or work number so that if you are away from home, you will be instantly notified of the break-in. You can thus contact the police department of the burglary yourself. This reduces the risk of false alarms that plagues the monitored home security system. With the monitored system, because it is linked to a professional monitoring company, should the alarms be accidentally triggered, the company will notify the police department unless you contact them within the following few seconds. Thus, it leaves plenty of room for false alarms and the high fees that go along with that.
It also significantly cheaper than the monitored system because it does not require a monthly monitoring fee since there is no monitoring company monitoring the home and system. Moreover, because it is a self-installation system, no professional installation fees are required. Thus, it is a relatively cheap system in comparison to the monitored system; however, it does not sacrifice the reliability and effectiveness as does the unmonitored system. With the unmonitored system, you have the alarms wired around your home; however, it does not notify the monitoring company nor does it contact a pre-determined list of contacts. It merely emits loud alarms sounds that will hopefully alert neighbors or bystanders to call the police department. Or it can probably scare away the burglar from carrying out his break-in into your home.
The wireless auto-dial home security system is an example of a reliable system that does not cost an arm and a leg to implement throughout your home. While it has its downsides, such as the potential for phone calls to not be received, it is a system that combines the effectiveness of the monitored system with the lower cost of the unmonitored.
